In 2014, in Hualien, an East Coast Marathon started it all.
That year, we organized a marathon at National Dong Hwa University. XJack led the GAMELab of the NDHU Computer Science department to build the chip timing system, Kuo-Feng Hsu served as the NDHU Triathlon Team coach handling all race operations — from course planning to safety protocols, and Lo U Ian, the youngest of us and the team captain, assisted Kuo-Feng with everything on the ground.
After the race, the event could not continue for various reasons. But our passion did not stop there. We started thinking: instead of serving runners for just a few hours on race day, why not help them prepare for the months of training beforehand? At that time, XJack had already built simple Runlevel calculators and training stress tools for the NDHU Triathlon Team — those small tools became the starting point of everything.
In late 2014, we launched our first product "Endurance Network." After some time exploring, we decided to start over and focus on what we do best — running data analysis.
On March 15, 2016, RQ officially launched.
From a marathon in Hualien to where we are today, RQ has accompanied countless runners in understanding themselves and breaking through their limits. We have always believed — understanding yourself is the first step to progress.
